Ep. 9 - Rabbi Adam Kligfeld

This is episode 9, recorded on April 29, 2021.

My guest today is Rabbi Adam Kligfeld. Rabbi Kligfeld is a graduate of Columbia College.  He was ordained as a rabbi in 2000 by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

Since then he has served communities in Monroe, NY and in Los Angeles and is currently the senior Rabbi at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles since 2009.

In 2017 Rabbi Kligfeld took a sabbatical to study Hasidic texts.  But instead of going to Israel he went to a Tibetan Buddhist center on a remote island off the coast of Scotland.  And then studied yoga and meditation with a Hindu teacher in India.

What a fascinating journey. We talk about his experience, what he learned during that time and what he was able to bring back to enrich his Judaism and his Jewish community.
